Tolls and remuneration

We establish the annual remuneration for regulated activities (distribution and transportation of electricity and gas, remuneration of the system operator and the technical system manager), in application of the remuneration methodology circulars.
We set the access tolls to electricity and gas networks, in development of the CNMC circulars on toll methodology (CNMC circular 3/2020 for electricity and CNMC circular 6/2020 for natural gas).

Settlements

We carry out the settlements of certain regulated activities in the energy sectors, such as the settlements of access tolls for gas and electricity and the settlements of specific remuneration for electricity production facilities using technologies that harness renewable primary energy, cogeneration, and waste.

Inclusion of facilities in the remuneration regime of the gas system

Energy regulation grants us the competence to issue resolutions on various aspects affecting the remuneration of regulated activities, such as resolutions on the inclusion of facilities in the remuneration regime of the gas sector.

Economic – financial analysis

We supervise the economic and financial situation of companies performing regulated activities.
We have the competence to oversee shareholding operations in the energy sector in accordance with the established provision.
If it is considered that there is a real and sufficiently serious threat to the guarantee of electricity, gas, and hydrocarbon supply, we can establish conditions for companies subject to the communicated operations to carry out their activities.
