We advocate for effective competition, objectivity, and transparency in the operation of energy systems, for the benefit of consumers and agents operating in these sectors.

The regulation of the CNMC affects:

Electricity market: We monitor the operation and the level of competition in the electricity market, at the wholesale market level (MIBEL) and retail market, as well as the system operation.

Gas market: We monitor the operation and the level of competition in the gas market, at the wholesale market level (MIBGAS) and retail market, as well as the technical management of the system. 

Oil and biofuels market: We monitor the evolution of fuel prices, access to the logistics network, and, until December 31, 2020, we were the biofuels certification entity.
